Not the ‘Greatest Show’ by any means, but not to say it’s all bad. In a film riddled with missed opportunities, it tries so hard to dazzle and inspire us with awe that it forgets fundamentals in storytelling and characterisation. Still, it’s pleasant and can easily entertain… but not much more. For an easy-going family-friendly musical, you could certainly do worse.
While it may suffer from a long run-time, thrown-away plot-points and just about edges on too much comedy, this is an excellent and incredibly enjoying chapter of the saga. Big, bold and exciting with brilliant characters, shocking story developments and beautiful action scenes – this is the Star Wars film we need.
Sweet, uplifting and inspiring. Despite an iffy structure and not having enough Wilson and Roberts, Wonder is a heart-warming film with a special message.
