The story and writing are enjoyable and the cast really sell it. While it may be ultimately unremarkable, it’s nevertheless perfectly pleasant. An ideal film to watch with your feet up on a lazy Sunday afternoon with the whole family.
Downsizing is a small film that should have dreamed bigger and been daring enough to really embrace its refreshingly original concept. Instead it goes from a conceptually captivating film to a fairly generic drama/quasi-comedy whose plot plods along, quickly forgetting the central premise that excited the audience. Certainly a pleasant watch, but a missed opportunity.
Sweet, uplifting and inspiring. Despite an iffy structure and not having enough Wilson and Roberts, Wonder is a heart-warming film with a special message.
