Enjoyed Rogue One? Maybe You Can Look Forward to More of the Same…

You can’t deny the popularity of the Star Wars films – even the spin-offs. 2016’s pre-Episode IV spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was hugely popular, received well by fans and critics alike, doing very well at the box office.

This bodes especially well for the future of this series of spin-off films, of which we already know the next one – a Han Solo spin-off film starring Alden Ehrenreich and Woody Harrelson. More and more details about this are slowly being fed and people are excited; people always are with Star Wars.

The first spin-off, an enormous success

But how will the Han Solo film fare compared to its predecessor, Rogue One? Only time can tell, but we can only hope it will be of similar quality. If worst comes to worst and it’s not… well, fret not – Rogue One story creator, John Knoll, has stated that he is working on another spin-off idea already.

“I have another idea I’ve been tinkering with. It’s maybe 75 percent there. I haven’t pitched it to Kathleen Kennedy [president of LucasFilm]. It’s another Star Wars thing…There’s no reason to think Disney is going to stop wanting to make Star Wars movies if there’s quality and there’s interest. It has unlimited potential. It has a huge number of characters, worlds … It’s a massive playground.”” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Of course we can only wait and see what LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy will make of his idea. Yet judging from Rogue One’s success I’m sure that she’ll be listening very intently with dollar signs in her eyes. Even in Episode IX marks the end of the trilogies (unlikely), it seems possible that Star Wars may be eternal through their Anthology spin-off films. And I’m happy about that – the more trips off to a galaxy far, far away, the better as far as I’m concerned.
